André's (1881b) description is at (illustration unavailable). Mayr (1904b) gave notes on a finding from Sudan, at Kaka, White Nile, by Traegardh; these are at Santschi's (1915a) description of punica is at .

These seem to match Santschi's description and drawings of punicum exactly although it might be questioned as to whether that should constitute a separate species.
